When teaching his specialty areas are science and mathematics. He says about Kai Iwi "I really like the way everyone, staff, pupils, parents, BoT members and the community work together supporting one another with a minimum of fuss. I enjoy the caring nature of the school; the way older children support younger ones, the caring way everyone talks to each other and the growing value that everyone is putting on caring for the environment."
